Electronic equipment contains materials that must not go into ordinary waste. Alliance Digitech is committed to the environmentally sound handling of end-of-life electronics, in line with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 and applicable updates and amendments, and with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programmes of the brands we distribute.

1.What Is E-Waste

E-waste is the popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their “useful life”. Mobile phones, laptops, desktops, thin clients, air conditioners, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, VCDs, stereos, copiers and fax machines are common examples. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished or recycled.

E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. It contains valuable materials such as aluminium, copper, gold, palladium and silver, but also harmful substances such as cadmium, lead and mercury. Without proper awareness, e-waste dumped in landfill can cause toxic emissions to air, water and soil, and pose a serious health and environmental hazard.

For our customers, e-waste typically includes end-of-life or non-working: multifunction printers, copiers and plotters; interactive panels, displays and projectors; UPS units and batteries; and related accessories such as cables, adapters, and used toner and ink cartridges.

2.Our Commitment and Recycling Partner

Under the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, Alliance Digitech Pvt. Ltd. stands committed to implementing the E-Waste Rules. We understand the need to encourage recycling of all useful and valuable material from e-waste, so as to conserve ever-depleting natural resources. Recycling end-of-life discarded products is vital if we are to save resources and minimise landfill.

To help our customers dispose of products responsibly after end of life, we have tied up with one of the leading authorised e-waste recyclers, RECFLY RECYCLERS PVT LTD. RECFLY is a renowned recycler, authorised by CPCB and HSPCB, committed to environmental, social and corporate governance, with expertise in assisting producers to fulfil their EPR and e-waste management compliances.

3.How to Hand Over Your E-Waste

RECFLY collects all our e-waste across India and processes it at the plant above. Call our toll-free number 1800-309-8043: our representatives will explain the disposal process, tell you the nearest drop point, and share the incentive we offer against your end-of-life product.

If you would like the material collected from your doorstep, we send either our logistics team or RECFLY’s team to collect the items and channel them to our e-waste partner’s plant for final processing.

• Take-back: we accept back end-of-life equipment supplied by us, and channel it to an authorised or registered e-waste recycler, or to the relevant manufacturer’s EPR programme, as applicable.
• Guidance: we help you identify the appropriate process, or the nearest available collection centre, if you cannot arrange a pickup.
• Buy-back, exchange and upgrade: when you replace equipment with us, ask about buy-back and exchange options so the old unit is retired responsibly.
• Consumables: we support the return of used toner and ink cartridges through authorised channels.

5.Do’s

• Please check the life-cycle of your product in the product information booklet.
• Please call the toll-free number for any query about take-back or recycling of your product.
• Please hand over e-waste only at the designated collection centre of the brand.
• Please make sure you earn the incentive from the brand by handing over e-waste the correct way.
• Please accumulate all unused electronic and electrical items, to be handed over only to the brand or a registered recycler.
• Please make use of the buy-back and exchange programme from the brand.
• Please drop scrap electronic parts handed back to you after replacement with a new part into the e-waste drop box at the service centre.
• Please remember that, as individuals, we all have a responsibility towards the conservation of our environment.

6.Don’ts

• Please do not throw any electronics (including batteries) into the garbage bin. They must be thrown only into designated bins marked with this symbol:
  
• Please do not sell e-waste to scrap dealers or unauthorised agents for a little cash.
• Please do not dispose of e-waste in landfills or pits — it is an ill legacy for the next generation.
• Please do not open unused electronics without expert supervision, as it can be hazardous.
• Please do not cut open parts or components without a brand representative’s supervision.

7.What Should I Do With My Electronic Discards?

The mantra of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” applies here.

• Reduce your generation of e-waste through smart handling and good maintenance.
• Reuse still-functioning electronic equipment by donating it to us.
• Recycle products that cannot be repaired. You may hand over end-of-life products at our nearest drop point for proper recycling.

8.Protect Your Data Before Handover

Before returning any device that stores data (for example a multifunction printer with a hard disk or SSD), securely erase or remove the storage media. Contact us and we can advise on the correct procedure for your model.

• Promote awareness: we will inform and motivate all our staff and encourage them to play an active role in our e-waste disposal and environmental policy.
• Waste management: we will continue to promote, develop and implement waste prevention, reduction, reuse and recycling on site in a systematic and cost-effective manner. We will use appropriately regulated waste management contractors to ensure safe management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste sent offsite, in accordance with best environmental practice.
